A Social Forestry Theme for this year Falakata Muktipara Sarbojonin Durga Puja

Webdesk, TNI Falakata 30th July 2017: Falakata Muktipara Sarbojonin Puja Committee is going to celebrate its Durga Puja in a unique way this year. This time the Durga Puja theme will be Mission Green Falakata. This year every household and business establishment of the area is going to be presented with a sapling of a Neem tree. This mission is being inaugurated today. A total of 1500 saplings will be distributed likewise. The mission was inaugurated by the MLA of Falakata Mr. Anil Adhikari.
Along with him, the other guests present were Chairman of Falakata Panchayat Samiti Smt. Sandhya Biswas, the Vice Chairman Mr. Jatin Roy, The Beat Officer of Falakata Social Forestry Mr. Dilip Ghosh and the Puja Committee Members. The Secretary of the Puja Committee Mr. Abhijit Roy told TNI “The NH 31 is going to be widened and along with it many trees will be felled. For this reason, we have decided to make this as a theme in this Puja. We always try to make a social initiative in our Durga Puja. For this reason for the last 3 years, we were selected for the Biswa Banga Samman. We also hope this will be repeated this year too”.
